The Noxious Weed Action Committee was formed at the 2007 annual Meeting of the Board of Directors because of the recent increase in growth of noxious weeds in our area. See the "About the Association" page for the current committee head.
The Committee feels it has made good headway in the last couple of years with committee members doing most of the spraying throughout the area, but the challenge is bigger than two or three people can handle in a season. The good news is the weeds on the properties that have been addressed so far have not gone to seed and those weeds are contained, but as the season progresses there are going to be some challenges.
The Committee is finding that it is not possible to get to all properties with the amount of time available, and therefore it is willing to assist any member who wants to do their own spraying with the mixing of the spray and the identification of the noxious weeds. The Association has a backpack type sprayer that is kept in Tierney’s garage and arrangements can be made to use it by calling the Tierneys. Sam Ard has generously donated Honcho (a generic version of Roundup) herbicide for this purpose. Click here for information on the identification and management of noxious weeds.
If you feel that you are unable to do your own spraying and you want the Committee and its volunteers to use herbicide on noxious weeds on your property, please complete and submit the following from. The Committee will not use herbicide on any property without the permission of the owner.
